Safety
Safety First and Always
Keeping our employees, customers and the communities we serve safe is our highest priority. Our safety standards are rigorous, and our focus is unrelenting. That’s how we’ve earned a safety record that’s consistently among the best in our industry.
Keeping Our Communities Safe
Our systems are designed, engineered and operated with industry leading safety practices. That includes monitoring our infrastructure around the clock, routinely inspecting our pipelines inside and out, and conducting regular aerial surveillance.
In the unlikely event that an emergency occurs, we’re ready to respond and have programs in place to ensure the public knows what to do, too. We want to make sure people know where our pipelines are located, how to identify a potential safety issue and what to do in case of an emergency. We regularly send safety materials to residents living along our right of ways, as well as to first responders and city, town and county public officials. We also hold annual public meetings for first responders, commercial excavators and agriculture operations in areas near our pipelines.
In addition to providing expert support at all times, our central station systems monitor our pipelines and can implement safety shutoffs quickly. Collaborative drills with local emergency responders are conducted regularly.
Help Us Improve Safety
Safety is the responsibility of many people, including our skilled personnel, federal and state experts that oversee natural gas pipelines, public safety officials and — equally as important — our neighbors who live and work near our pipelines.
Monitoring our pipelines and facilities is an important part of our safety program. Please contact our safety team for more information or to report non-emergency concerns. safety@dtmidstream.com
